For as long as I can remember I have always had a very bad relationship with food. I eat when I am sad, celebrate with food when I am happy and reward myself with food when I have achieved something good.

The pandemic had a severe effect on my mental health and as I always do when I am down, I turned to food and alcohol for comfort. Before I knew it, I was back to where I told myself I would never be again, overweight, unfit and very uncomfortable in my own skin. I didn't really need to see a photo of myself to know things have spiralled out of control but the photo of me in the pink top was the wake-up call as I honestly did not recognise the person looking back at me. I knew something would drastically have to change to get back to a healthy weight and get my fitness back!

NADIA’S 8KG DROP

I used to love running and made the decision to sign up for a half marathon. This goal was big and scary enough to get me out of bed in the morning to go for a run, but I knew I had to lose a fair bit of weight too as my body was not coping with the running carrying so much extra weight.

I did Kim's program a few years back with great results and remembered how easy it was to stick to the principles and how amazing the support group was, so I decided to sign up for the 8-week program again.

The 8 weeks flew by and before I knew it, I had completed the program. I lost a total of 6.6kg and 45 cm, but more importantly I felt like a new person! My mood improved drastically, I cope a lot better with work stress and overall I am just a happier version of myself. Also, I completed the half marathon in a very respectable time considering I have not done any running for almost 5 years!!

I do still have a fair bit of weight to lose, and I want to improve my running fitness, so I signed up for NE 2.0X straight after finishing NE 2.0. So far, I have lost an additional 1.4kg and 13.5cm.

The support of the Beach Club Group is amazing! Women from all different ages, different life stages and with different goals, but all there to support, encourage and uplift each other.
